Lazy J Ranch became a reality about three years ago when we decided to get serious about breeding our horses. Ronnie and I were already off to a good start with our APHA stallion, “MJ Whiskey” a.k.a. “Splash.” About two years ago, we began a search for a well bred AQHA stallion to add to our herd (we preferred grey). Finally, after months of searching, we discovered “Olenas Peppy Badger” a.k.a. “Badger” in North Dakota. His bloodlines were just what we were looking for and we knew that he would be a perfect match for our mares.
We were excited at our discovery, because “Badger” was also grey (our favorite color). I've owned horses for most of my life and have been breeding horses since 1999. I've always had a fascination with Thoroughbreds and recently decided to delve into that area. Ronnie and I have purchased several ex-racers with hopes to retrain them for a new career in the hunter/jumper world. We also purchased a nice stud colt, “Good Boy Roy” a.k.a. “Roy,” with hopes of one day using him as a stallion after exposing him to the world of racing.
We are dedicated to breeding quality horses with excellent bloodlines.
Lazy J Ranch is located in central Mississippi near the state capital of Jackson. For those of you familiar with the area, we're close to the Pisgah/Sand Hill area (near Highway 25, going towards Carthage).
